GIVE A DAMN

Su Casa ~ Ending Domestic Violence is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to the philosophy that every individual has the right to live free from violence or the threat of violence.

Our Mission is to empower individuals and families to live free from domestic abuse and build partnerships with communities to end domestic violence.

Su Casa has helped as many Survivors as possible. During 2018, we sheltered over 300 survivors, assisted 1,400 callers through our 24 hour crisis hotline, conducted over 150 outreach presentations in the community and helped over 60 survivors in our Walk-in Center. Our goal is to help as many domestic violent survivors as we can.

Many women and men have passed through our shelter and it's rewarding when you see them leave and start a better life. One particular client that came into the shelter was tired of her abuser and frustrated that family members did not believe abuse was occurring. Her abuser managed to gain the trust of all her family members and friends and in their eyes, he was a nice guy. Noemi seemed stuck in her relationship and she believed that there was no way out. One day Noemi got the courage to seek help and found Su Casa through a friend. She came into the shelter feeling negative and disappointed in herself. She felt defeated because she had no way out. While in the shelter she learned about the cycle of abuse and healthy relationships. It was then through counseling, Domestic violence classes, parenting classes that Noemi gained herself confident to move on. Noemi, with the help of staff, was able to get a job and an apartment for her family.
